Airlie Primary School Parent Council consists of parent volunteers, school staff and co – opted members. The size of the parent council depends on the number of classes and the number of parents willing to volunteer.Current Parent Council Members 2014/2015
In addition to our key members, when forming a new committee we encourage a parent from nursery through to Primary 7 to represent each year group acting as a link between the families and the school. The Parent Council also play a huge role in raising funds for the school. In the past it has enabled ski trips for P6 & 7, contributed to various Eco projects within the school grounds (which helped to achieve our “Green Flag” status in 2011), Halloween, Christmas and end of term celebrations and funds for the design and decoration of stage sets for our annual Christmas Play. The Parent Council also purchase equipment and resources for teaching staff and administration staff and the children.
Please note that if you wish to make contact with a member of the Parent council you can do so by contacting the school office and leave a message and your contact details Airlie Primary School – 01575 530254 or by emailing email@example.com
A message from Kirsty Stevens, Chairperson
I am the new Chair Person. Some of you may know me already as Libbys Mum. For those who do not know me, I have 2 children at Airlie and I am passionate for the school continuing to deliver the best education that it can provide. I want us to work in partnership with the school to create a welcoming school which is inclusive for all parents.
As parents we should aim to develop and engage in activities which support the school in relation to the education and welfare of the pupils.
The Parent Council aims to hold at least one meeting every term, more if it is necessary for organising any fund raisers or events arranged by the Parent Council. The next meeting will be in January 2014 confirmation of a date will be sent out at a later. I hope to make the meetings an informal, social event and for them to be a good way of meeting other parents, an opportunity to become more involved in school life and the changes that are going on in our children’s education.
It is important that you all feel welcome at Parent Council meetings. If you have any suggestions for future Parent Council meetings please contact myself or the class representative. I look forward to seeing you come along to support the Parent Council in the future.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you all for your continued support to the school and the Parent Council.Regards
