There is an active Pupil Council at Airlie Primary School including representatives from all classes. The Pupil Council members are elected by their classmates at the beginning of the session and they are members for the duration of one year. Throughout the year they meet regularly with the head teacher, Ms Hislop. They work to make the school better for everyone and help with other things as they come along.
Pupil Council Letter to Prospective Parents
The children and teachers at our school are very friendly and the teachers are helpful. Our lessons are really good, challenging and our teachers make learning fun. There are many special days in the school year like Health Week, Book Week, Red Nose Day, Christmas parties and school discos. We also go on trips to places like Dynamic Earth, The Deer Centre and Craigton Park. Each September there is a trip to Dalguise. In our playground we have a fun Trim Trail with a wobbly bridge and monkey bars. There are stumps like stepping stones. We have a big playground, plenty of grass and some woodland. We are an Eco School and have a Green Flag. We have a Bug Hotel, bird feeders and a greenhouse we made from plastic bottles. We have after-school clubs for basketball, badminton, choir, archery and a fun club for primary 1 2 and 3. There is a huge range of books for all ages in our library. Some are scary and some are funny. The school meals are really nice and the dinner lady talks to us while we are waiting. There is sometimes a quiz at lunches to win prizes like cinema tickets. The school is really nice so come and join us.
